That is a level using alternating hips full-time to go down and double-time to come up. That is not really recognized as a "move", but is in the repertoire as a level variation, I suppose. Its one of those moves that conserves energy and pulls the eye in to focus on the small movements of the hips. Kind of a specialty move and you have to be pretty connected with your partner to sync up properly.

The cue to go into the level is arms out at shoulder level and going up on the balls of the feet. The hips can go full time or dbl-time for the whole sequence or split, like in the video, which is most commonly used. Sometimes we mix it up and do alternating hips down and shoulder shimmy up or vice versa.

Its playful, yet really helps us out when the music is really fast and don't want to blow our energy out.

I asked about this move back in the thread about Red Lotus' performance at Rakassah, but I think it got lost in the shuffle. Figured it was time to give the question it's own thread.

What is this move??? It begins at about 5:54 of the Red Lotus performance
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJa6IFkRDW0
It looks like a hip drop on each side for 8 counts with a level change and then 8 counts of shimmying up.

I saw the move about a week before I saw the Red Lotus vid, on FCBD Vol 5 DVD. I don't ever remember learning it in GS or TT, or seeing it on DVDs 1,4, or 7. Looks like alot of fun though. I wanna try if it is still in the FCBD format. What's the name of this sucker? And, is there a cue?

Thanks!
