Dueling Duets - alignment/positions

I have watched the FCBD videos with dueling duets over and over and I'm still unclear on something. How exactly are the two duets aligned on stage?

It seems (from the videos) that if the stage is a clock with the audience at 12 and the back of the stage at 6, that the duet to stage L is angled to about the 1 o'clock position, with the follower right behind and slightly to the right of the leader.

The following duet seems to be slightly upstage (towards the 6 o'clock position), but I can't tell the angle. Are they directly facing the other duet (so facing around 7 o'clock) with the follower behind and slightly to the right of the leader? Or is this duet angled more to the 8 o'clock position, opened up to the audience more?

Man, I wish I had an ariel view of these videos!

Thanks so much!

Overhead, they'll basically look like they're in two diagonals - staggered.

Another way to look at it is, the "audience" of the respective duets are each other or their "fronts" are the center stage mark. If you set up your duets (complete with performance angles) just to the left of each other with the center stage line inbetween, you'll be in the dueling duet formation.

I hope that didn't confuse you more.

Mmm, not sure what you mean. I'm guessing the two duets are mirror images of each other, and are facing each other directly.

When you say performance angle, would it be as if the stage L duet is basing their performance angle off the R hand flat side of the stage and the stage R duet is basing its angle off the L hand flat side of the stage (if we image the stage as square). So it's like a regular duet facing the audience at 12 o'clock/front was turned 90 degrees to the R or L.

Is it as if the 4 person formation had a horizontal line running across the stage, the the front two people are the one duet and the back two people are the second duet, and then they would back away from each other until the leaders are facing each other. Which duet is closer to the audience, the one with the overall leader or the second duet?
