Re: Raqset Al Sajat
Tue, November 3, 2009 - 8:04 PMIt's a wonderful tool. These kinds of things that we have at our fingertips are priceless. I listened to it in the car a lot before sitting down with it at home. I wanted to get a better feel the big picture of it. -

Tue, November 3, 2009 - 10:15 PMMee too, listening in the car. There is a huge amount of information. So will have to start at the start and work through some of it. Did anyone notice it is marked as Volume 1? I thought it had so much information on it and was surprised to see Volume 1 .... surely that is leaving the door open for more to come.
Aww, you FCBD & Helm artists are just amazing.
Cheers, Susan -

Re: Raqset Al Sajat
Wed, November 4, 2009 - 7:01 PMI think it's a great cd to learn from. Ling Shien has been teaching the sections at our studio when we can schedule her. It has been really fun to work with the students in understanding the different rhythms and using the call & response patterns in the chorus, while others are using the "longas" (RLR) while they're dancing (if it works). Quite a brain teaser for everyone! Though we probably wouldn't use the patterns while we were dancing, unless it was well rehearsed, it definitely gives some food for thought in how to spice up zilwork in the chorus. And LS has such a sweet voice. :}

Re: Raqset Al Sajat
Wed, November 4, 2009 - 7:27 PMI bought "Mon Amant de St Jean" because I fell in love with that song from the TF8 videos, but was holding off on buying the entire CD until I could find out whether I was missing anything by simply buying it on iTunes. Is there a CD insert/booklet that comes with it, or is it just the audio instruction? Do I really need to buy the CD to get the full effect? Am I missing out by buying it on iTunes? -

Re: Raqset Al Sajat
Thu, November 5, 2009 - 9:59 AMYes, there is a booklet that comes with the real CD. I would recommend purchasing the CD instead of downloading it. FCBD.com carries it of course ; ) -
