Tue, May 8, 2007 - 12:02 PMHave you tried The Upper Egypt Ensemble? I LOVE their stuff. And of course Helm. I especially like their CD F'il Waha - At the Oasis.

Tue, May 8, 2007 - 12:51 PMTake a look and listen around here: www.fcbd.com/html/music.html
Plus, Helm/FCBD just came out with a new cd called Spice Box. I don't see it on the website yet, but I'm sure you could request it.

Tue, May 8, 2007 - 1:30 PMYes...Helm is a must. Spice Box is awesome!
Raquy and the Cavemen are a favorite as well. Not all of the songs are 4/4, but they all rock.

Re: best ATS tunes..
Wed, May 9, 2007 - 7:50 AMMy new favorite is Ruben van Rompaey. Found him on CD Baby. It's scrummy! Solace just came out with a new one called "Moon Moth Mixes". It's a bellydance practice companion with bpm listed. It's not boring at all. I think you could use it for performance. Might have to do some slight editing (each speed grouping is 12-15 minutes long with 4 "segments"), but totally doable. -

Re: best ATS tunes..
Wed, May 9, 2007 - 1:18 PMAnother music associated question. I got Rachel's CD A Tribal Metamorphosis, and I love it (my mom scratches her head and says that's music?) Whatever, I love it. Anybody know any other music that is similar to that in nature? I'm pretty broke so I hate buying music if I don't have a clue about it!
And thanks for the other posts, good to know, didn't know about this Helm, have to check them out! -

Re: best ATS tunes..
Mon, July 23, 2007 - 6:09 PMI made a bunch of iMixes (on iTunes) for ATS & tribal fusion belly dance. Everything on the mixes can be purchased online so you don't have to get a whole cd if you only like one song. I figured it would also be a nice to use as a springboard for finding new groups. You can listen before you buy.
Here's where you can find them:
tribes.tribe.net/tribaltracks
I'll be putting more in there in a few days. Feel free to make & post your own iMixes!
