Devyani move- Turkish Shimmy crossover cue

Is there a way to differentiate whether the leader is going to do a standard Turkish Shimmy duet pass, or the Cross-over? Usually, when we want to indicate a regular pass, we break eye contact and look in the direction we want to go, and that signals passing back to back. But it seems like the same broken eye contact would also signal the Cross-over.

Is it a matter of the follower just having to stay on her toes to peripherally catch the arms swinging into that windshield-wiper arc? Or is there something else I'm not getting?

If I remember it correctly, on the DVD it was said that Devyani only use this particular combo for a Turkish Shimmy partner pass, and not the standard one. So for them this question doesn't arise.
I guess, if we want to incorporate both versions into our repertoires, we'll have to experiment and see how it works.
